Bon Voyage

I see us there, Deb, Teresa, and Jenn,

four sisters strolling through the Bois de Boulogne.

Family and pets, dear as they are, left behind

for a Girls Only trip to Paris.

My sisters, my history, my best friends,

won't you come along?

There they are, my 3 little sisters,

in a rare time together recently.

I'd prefer not to have been captured by the camera,

but yes, I was there too.

I love my little sisters,

but pardon me for sometimes wishing

that they weren't quite so little!

There, that's better!

Shall we go to Paris?

Stop in New York for a few days?

Stay at the Waldorf Astoria?

Shop at Bergdorf Goodman?

We'll need clothes for aboard ship…

Naturally we'll want to shop when we arrive in Paris,

but we'll need some frocks for dances mid-Atlantic,

and I hear that Pink is popular in Paris...

Shall I book us staterooms on the Ile de France?

Care to join us, ladies?

How many staterooms will we need?

Here's to wishing us all Bon Voyage!

[New posts coming Friday, God willing and the creek don't rise,
as we say here in Tennessee!]

  2. No better people to share memories with but sisters...and best friends. My sister and I still talk about looking for the funicular to take...instead we walked the steps to the Sacre Cour.

  3. Beautiful post of beautiful sisters! I love, love, love that you are all together and in gorgeous style with radiant smiles! Embracing life, and of course your Birthday month too! It is wonderfully good for the soul to see the rewards of a such a close family like yours. When I see this photo, I able to envision my three daughters enjoying time together throughout the
years and the bond that only sisters know!

  4. Your sisters are lovely, Dewena, and I can see some resemblance among all of you. How wonderful that you got a chance to spend some quality time together, and now they will be joining us on our voyage to Paris - brilliant! Yes, let's stop in NYC, for a bit; it would be the perfect prelude to its European cousin. I hear that the Mille-Feuille Bakery Cafe has the parfait mille feuille in town! Shall we, my treat?!

    XOXO

  5. Please book a stateroom for me - I am packing already!! You and your sisters look like great traveling companions and I know that we'd have a wonderful time in Paris. Do you think there's time enough for a little detour to Provence?

  9. Had the blessed opportunity to be with 3 of my best gal pals Saturday. With them, can do anything.

We can create a rebellion, or quell one. Mostly we nurture, share, listen, laugh. Get each other thru.

Cannot imagine them all being truly blood sisters. Happy for your quad !

    1. Folks, just testing from my old blog, commenting on this one because I wondered if my readers had to to one of those captha (?) things where you have to prove if you're a robot or not, and this was the only way I could think of. Guess not!

    1. Oh, Doreen, I must explain. This is a trip of the imagination, dear friend. Going to the Paris of the 1920s and 30s. I'm sure I didn't make it clear in each post since May 1.

So, that being the case, want you come with us?

    2. Oops, I meant "won't you come with us?"

  17. Dewena, did I know you're my next state neighbor? As to Paris/NYC, let's GO! Dave and I had tickets to Paris and EuroPass when he got sick and plans changed. I'll make it yet, just don't know when.

  18. So, this is just a 'wishful thinking' kind of post. Dang it... I was ready to book passage with you. Oh, I forgot. I get seasick. Darn.

You are just as beautiful as your sisters, my friend.
