Welcome to Valley View!
Drive past the old workshop covered with vines.
We're back in here,
that small red speck hidden in the trees.
Open the gate and come up the walk.
The bunting has been hung.
The deck has been power washed.
The table is ready in the picnic shelter,
if it's sunny.
And the table is ready inside,
if it rains.
Either way, there'll be steaks and salmon,
and blackberry cobbler.
The flag is flying.
Here at Valley View,
we're so thankful to live in America,
this wonderful country of ours.
We're so thankful to live in the beautiful South,
and in this Tennessee valley,
and among the gracious people of Nashville.
As our beloved Minnie Pearl always said,
"How-w-w-DEE-ee!
I'm jes' so proud to be here."
A Happy Fourth of July to all of you
from all of us at Valley View.
I wish I was spending the day with you! How lovely everything looks and I love the quilt you used for the table. Happy fourth sweet friend. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth! It looks as if you are going to have a perfect holiday! All your special touches are perfect. I especially love the bunting and the red white and blue quilt on the table.
ReplyDeleteLove every layer of your Valley View. Except not being able to drop by.
ReplyDeleteHave managed to put a dozen American flags in a front flower pot. Of course boxes are still covering the front porch, and a tv. This move is crazy chaos.
Our new little town has a BBQ & fireworks for the 4th. Will go meet more of my new neighbors.
XO T
Bryan and I are so excited to be here for 4th of July! It's a majical place here at Valley View, peaceful and beautiful! It's a stark contrast from the fast paced high pressure negotiating world I work in every day! Bryan and I call Valley View "Our Sanctuary"! I write this as mom is about to serve her famous waffle breakfast to us, as only she can. although Bryan and I live at one of the most beautiful beaches in the North East, there's no place in America like Nashville! I recently read that Nashville is the fastest growing city in the country, rightfully so; sophisticated, full of beauty, inspiration and genuine Southern charm!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th, love Christy
Oh, I meant to say, East coast, we live in North East FL, Ponte Vedra Beach. :-) Also, can't leave dad's wonderful fresh egss out from his pet chickens as a great contribution to the spectacular waffle breakfast.
DeleteOh, I'd love to be there! Almost a year to my first/last trip to Nashville, and I wish we'd stayed longer. :)
ReplyDeleteA very inviting place. So glad you gave us a peek. Have a great 4th.. a safe one.
ReplyDeletei'm there! sitting in the shade on the porch! see me? i'm petting big beautiful brown eyes and scolding the girls!
ReplyDeletei have tears shining and a big grin on my face at the same time.

ReplyDeleteDewena, what a delightful post, and I'm so glad I got to see glimpses of your home. It all looks so nice - you have a lot of yard area! Steaks and blackberry cobbler sound yummy, and your table is festive with red, white, and blue. Jess would love that BIG front porch of yours. Her dream house is a cottage with a BIG front porch. I love that first picture, very cool.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth of July, precious friend.

ReplyDeleteTHIS is what I LOVE to see across my blogging friends' pages (and comments) on this very special day. I'm so thankful to live in this wonderful country of ours too, my friend. She is the beautiful, America the beautiful, more than a legend or song, and her own people have made her that way, not only by laying down their lives for her, but for many of our neighbors across the globe too.
Thank you for this most appropriate and patriotic post.
Please save me some of that cobbler. I'll save you some blueberry coffee cake. ;)
xoxoxo
