Left it to the last minute?
Never fear, Matchmaker Dewena is here!
Choose one of these handsome young men
and I'll set up a date for you!
And maybe you should drive.
His driver's license may have expired.
Just drop him off at home after your date.
The nearest graveyard will do.
Have a good time and
Happy Halloween!
Want to see the rest of the neighborhood?
Happy Halloween Dewena, and what a fun post too!

Jemma
Thanks, Jemma! I wanted it to be creepily fun!
DeleteReminds me o f some of the guys I dated in my youth--I called them "dead enders". xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up, Diana! "Dead Enders"
DeleteThis post had the hairs on the back of my neck standing tall... lol.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween, Dewena!
Oh good, Dee! That's what I was aiming for!
DeleteHappy Halloween to you Dewena. Love that candle light. Don't you wonder where that photo was taken. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI do wish I knew, Susie! But one of the young men was my aunt's future husband!
DeleteCute "blast from the past" post!!!

Hugs and magic
Tessa
Hugs and magic to you to, Tessa!
Deletewell that was a fun scary trip! I enjoyed it and love he way you decorated around the pics - I have an owl just like you. I have old family pics and if I had a mantle that would be a fun thing to do. good job!
ReplyDeleteYou went back to my old blog! Thank you, Sandy! Didn't know if anyone would because I know how busy everyone is. I loved doing that mantel and finding appropriate quotes.
DeleteThank you for visiting the old Across the Way!
well, that was eerie. Have a fun filled Halloween
ReplyDeleteWell thank you, Latane! .....I guess. Hope it wasn't too early in the morning for some creepiness!
DeleteAs we haven't had any trick or treaters except grandchildren in the 25 years we've lived here--the driveway's too long--our Halloween fun consists of indulging in weiner-wraps and corn candy scattered on a dish of ice cream while we watch a movie that's not too scary!
Happy Halloween to you!
What a cute post! Happy Halloween. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteThank you, Su!
DeleteI loved your Witches Tea!
Dewena, a delightful Halloween post, and I just love old pictures like this. They are such treasures from the past.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! I'm just going to pass out candy tonight to all the kiddies.
love, ~Sheri
Sheri, are the kids trick-or-treating tonight? I thought it was Saturday night. Or are they doing it both nights now? Smart kids!
DeleteOh, I meant tomorrow night, Saturday. We moved to a new house, so there are only a few kids in the neighborhood so far. : )
DeleteFun...and scary!! Happy Halloween!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim!
DeleteAll of my women readers, please go visit Kim's current post. Many of us will understand what she's been through.
DeleteDewena
Both of these posts..the new one and the old one....are great!! What a wonderful "ghost" story for Halloween...love all of the quotes! I hope you have a wonderfully scary Halloween weekend!! Love you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Benita! So glad you went back to the old one too as I felt like I could never in a million years top that one!
DeleteLove you back!
Can I have the fella front row, second from right? I'm sure he's still 'up to the task' ;).
ReplyDeleteDewena, isn't there a way for you to bring your old posts to this blog? There's so much goodness over there!
He's yours, Doreen! and what a doll he is!
DeleteDoreen, that's so sweet of you, but I don't know how to do it. I can't even figure out how to do a linking button on my sidebar to it. I am fond of Across the Way and probably should have never discontinued it. But at least I didn't delete it, as our sweet friend Rue did. Life is full of lessons, isn't it?
Thank you for going to the old blog, Doreen!
Hello Dewena. Very treasured photos. Love your post. Have a safe and fun Halloween. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. And I think our dating couples should come to dinner at your gorgeous purple themed Halloween table!
DeleteLOL the Stephen King quote about the thing under my bed...brought back nightmares I had as a kid! :)
ReplyDeleteBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Boo back to you, Deb! Oh yes, never could dare to keep my feet outside the covers when I was a child, and sometimes now!
DeleteFun! Happy Halloween :-)
ReplyDeleteCarla
A happy Halloween to you and those terrific boys of yours, Carla!
DeleteUnique Halloween decor, Dewena. I remember your 2014 post. i love that mantel. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Nancy! And that's right, you were with me back then at the old blog!
DeleteHandsome men, Dewena...but I think I'll stick with my husband as my date. ;-) Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteAnd I never thought you'd do otherwise, Melanie! Happy Halloween to both of you!
DeleteWhat a cute offer. At my age, it is hard to find one who doesn't qualify to be returned to the graveyard - one way or another.
ReplyDeleteSo funny, Sami! I read your comment to my husband and told him you were my beautiful interior designer from NC. Now if we could only move back there to the mountains and you could work your magic on a mountain house for us!
DeleteWhat fun that would be. I am having trouble with following by email. The little "prove you aren't a robot" thing doesn't show for me. Anyway, I'm still friends with the other blog so I come in that way. Back door?
DeleteLOLOL!
ReplyDeletei'm with shaggy in scooby do!
and see that guy in the first row on the farthest right?
he's my pick.
he's so relaxed! got his hand in his pocket and his jacket open...
and that lock of hair falling forward on his forehead...
yup.
he's a free spirit. pardon the pun.
what fun posts!!!
XOXOXOXO♥
He does look the most laid-back (is that a bad joke or what?) of any of the guys, doesn't he, Tam? Kind of Johnny Deppish? He's reserved for you then!
DeleteAnd notice I added a pic of guess who's Halloween card to the post? From the president of my Fang Club! Right there by Nora and CC's stinky feet trick or treat card!
And can you see what time I'm writing this reply to your sweet comment? Yep, another night of not getting back to sleep after a trip to the you know where. But it's a great time to blog visit as there are no crowds!
So funny! I'll be dateless, except for my loving dog who leaps for any sort of knock on the door!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
And a good dog is the best date ever! Wait a minute, you have two darling dogs, Jane...now I remember, one of them hides in the bedroom during trick or treat time, right?
DeleteHappy Halloween to you!
Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super post and I did use the link to go over to your old blog ... glad I did.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend, and all good wishes for the 1st November, it will be here so soon!
All the best Jan
...that little ghostie footprint is too cute for words...(as I am certain the little person it represents is too)...blessings laney
ReplyDeleteHow did I not know you were here on this new blog? I'm lost in real life and in blog life sometimes. Love the ghost toes! Hope you had a great Halloween.
ReplyDeleteLeslie Anne
LOL. Hope you had a fun holiday, Dewena.

My dear matchmaking mon ami,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the offer, but I'd rather go solo, and besides, I'm soooooooooo late for the party, anyway!
How adorably artistic is that apparition in the night and those mousey bats in flight!!! I'm sure their creators had a fun Halloween!
xoxo
