The real me is the woman in this window, manual typewriter in front of her but holding a pencil posed over paper. Deer nibble at shrubbery on snow-covered lawn, fodder both for her writing and for her life. Or are they the same thing? Table for 4 in Living Room
Here's the second day of revisiting my four Christmas tables from last year. To sit four in the living room we brought in a garden table.
The table was a mixture of special Spode plates with a crimson border, an urn of flowers in the center…
And Spode Christmas Tree…
And these unusual Metropolitan chop plates…
And there we have a romantic dinner table for four in the living room.

Oh! I want to eat in the living room. It looks cozy and romantic.
ReplyDeleteI love all your posts and appreciate your comments over on Simple Pleasures.
So many of your posts seem as if you have read my mind! I know that if we lived near each other, we would be friends.
Have a Merry Christmas!
Thank you, Brenda, and we would be! I first found you through a comment you made on another blog about Nell Hill's Mary Carol. And you have actually met her and been through her house, lucky you!
Deletemy favorite! LOLOL.
ReplyDeleteoh the red is so cheery and warm.
you could have made a grand profession in this field you know.
but instead you raised four beautiful children and graced valley view for us now!
and we're SO grateful! ♥
I'm so glad you liked the red, Tammy! The only time I'm tempted to paint the red something else is in the summer, but come autumn and I'm in love with it all over again.
DeleteI love your table, and the chargers are fantastic! Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I haven't gotten very much feedback on my Advent Journal at all….
ReplyDeletexo,
Ricki Jill
Ricki Jill, your Advent scriptures have been an oasis of calm and hope to my days and I should have commented very day instead of leaving silently.
DeleteI'm so glad you liked the red table. I hope you see Sunday's because it is the china we talked about that would be pretty in your kitchen!
Classy, creative, Christmas-y, and cool, as in 1940s cool, when all women felt like starlets, and men treated them like one! Oh, I could sit here for hours, wrapped in those warm, festive throws, nestled in the softness of that sofa, basking in the glow of the forgiving, dimmed lights, enjoying the intrigue of good company, delicious delights, and the comfort of familiarity.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, my friend!
xoxo

I do love that table, too, Poppy! It's probably the only "glamour" table I'll ever pull off.
DeleteI actually gifted Zack with the large "Modigliani" Metropolitan chop plates this year when he set up bachelor apartment as I thought they added a strong masculine accent. Maybe some day they'll come back to me?
I know these replies are probably not coming back to you commenters, Poppy. How do I fix that?
Dear Dewena,
ReplyDeleteYour replies are too precious not to be read! All you have to do is forward them to their intended, once they appear in your inbox, which they do, when you hit publish! That's it!!
Wishing you a very Happy 2015! May it be blessed with good health, happiness, love, and prosperity!
Sending love and kisses,
xoxo
Poppy
I want to visit you, in that warm room!!!!
